Senior Software Architect (f/m/d)

We are currently active for an innovative venture within a global player in medical technology located in Germany. Our client is one of the leading providers of systems for imaging diagnostics worldwide. With more than 100.000 employees globally and presence in more than 100 countries, our client realises a revenue of several million euro. The product portfolio includes best-in-class technologies as ultrasound- and x-ray systems, computer tomography (CT), MRI, fMRI, and radiotherapy. For imaging systems, the product portfolio includes software for AI related healthcare solutions which are used in a variety of medical fields such as oncology, neurology and cardiology. Our client is also one of the world's leading groups to leverage the potential of artificial intelligence and to improve patients health and facilitate workflows of physicians in clinical environments as well as in associated clinical research areas.

In order to continuously improve the market position of our client, we are currently searching for a successful and motivated Software Architect for AI related healthcare solutions.

You are responsible for:

  • Developing an IT-Architecture according to the IT-Strategy.
  • The development of a roadmap / strategy implementation while ensuring excellent results regarding flexibility, maintainability or scalability of developed products
  • Being the Driver for architecture vision, design and documentation
  • Fostering the alignment of scrum teams with architecture across products and harmonizing process and technologies
  • Technical alignment with other functions and product groups with the company (e.g. software solutions for CT, MRT, fMRT)
  • Analyse industry and market trends in close cooperation with Business Development in order to identify impact on system architecture
  • Identify and assess relevant / emerging technologies as well as potential products and services and recommend a path forward
  • Approve high risk designs (IT-security, high avaiability etc.) in close alignment with management executives and service functions
  • Maintain system quality through appropriate measures such as code reviews and process definitions
  • Continuously improve agile development and deployment processes, e.g. by implementation of automated pipelines (continuous integration / DevOps)
  • You report to the Head of Development (Software)
  • You are responsible for the functional lead of your team

Your skills and experience:

  • Technical Degree Computer Science/Information Systems or similar
  • Extensive experience in information system and network creation and development
  • Proven track record to drive architecture in a large IT system, ideally in a healthcare or regulated environment
  • Solid track record to design and foster agile processes from requirements to deployment including relevant automation pipelines (continuous integration / deployment, DevOps)
  • In-depth understanding of methods and algorithms related to advanced analytics / machine learning / artificial intelligence as well as relevant toolkits
  • Experience in relevant technologies for system development, e.g. Docker or Kubernetes
  • Able to grasp clinical IT environments and design for a variety of local circumstances
  • Above-average analytical, conceptual and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to management as well as technical stakeholders
  • Solid track record in prioritizing and executing tasks, also when under strong pressure
  • Ability to work with multisite teams across different cultures and functions
  • Proficiency in English language is a must, German is a plus
