Our customer is one of Germany's hidden champions. The group is listed in the Prime Standard of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange and the company has been one of the leading providers of crystal growing systems for over 60 years. They cover a broad range from vacuum furnaces, plasmanitriding systems, crystal growing systems, plasma systems and metrology within the semiconductor industry etc. The products are tailored to the individual customer needs, and over 100 engineers and scientists are permanently working on new solutions in the headquarters alone. The holding company is organized to support the relatively independent subsidiaries in every possible way to realize the synergies. We are currently recruiting for a wholly-owned subsidiary, which develops and constructs machinery for all industrially relevant methods of producing ultra-pure mono-crystals: Cz (Czochralski), FZ (Float Zone), High-Temperature Chemical Vapor Deposition (HTCVD), Physical Vapor Transport (PVT) and VGF (Vertical Gradient Freeze). With branch offices in Taiwan, USA, Munich and Jena this company is well positioned in the market and has shown a stable performance as one of the equipment and plant suppliers for the industry. For the long-term strategic and entrepreneurial leadership of the subsidiary company, which focuses on crystal growth systems, we are currently searching for a:

The position:

• You are not only taking over the role as an entrepreneur, you are living it with every aspect, while identifying yourself with the organization, the products, the technology and the customers
• You are managing the company from the front, both in strategic and operative fields, and you align the organization according to your vision in close cooperation with the CTO, who is the second Managing Director of this entity and supports in technical aspects
• You recognize customer needs, you help to close deals, you assure that the technical requirements, budgets and timelines can be met - in short: you connect and integrate the whole organization
• You motivate your team consisting of currently roughly 45 people (sales team, R&D department etc.) while using the pool of experts within other parts of the company in the meantime
• You ensure that the services remain on the highest level and thereby secure the sustainable customer loyalty
• You represent the interests of the subsidiary company on holding level e.g. to ensure that the production through the sister company is done in time, in budget and in quality
• You are proactively identifying market opportunities, risks and position the company accordingly
• You increase the corporate value and represent the company within the group, towards the customers and any other internal and external stake holder
• You become the company

Your profile:

• You obtained an engineering degree or a degree in natural sciences with solid engineering experience, and you focused on the business administration / managing part in your recent years within in the special machinery & plant engineering industry
• You have a proven track record of getting things done through people, both in your engineering background and in the business administration side of your managerial role in a comparable environment
• You are able to make the difference through your impulses, from the technical and market side as well as your vision
• Your high level of energy and the leadership from the front motivates and aligns the team and their leaders
• You have an entrepreneurial perspective and show a hands-on as well as a can-do attitude
• You are able to comprehensibly communicate with internal and external customers about complex technical and scientific issues or financial figures both on an engineering and on a C-level
• You obtained first experience with business figures, project calculations and business plans
• You have a high willingness to learn and to constantly push the border of the technically possible further and further
• You are innovative, empathic and show a passion to solve complex issues with heterogeneous, international teams while reaching your overall goals
• You are working in a structured way, show a straight forward approach and prefer to work in a multinational environment
• Your command of the English language is therefore excellent both in spoken and written communication. Knowledge of solid German (B2) is sufficient
• You have excellent communications skills, you are determined, self-dependent, performance oriented and able to convince through your strong personality with a high level of self-motivation
• You have shown reasonable stays during your career steps until now and loyalty towards your previous employers
