Interview Guide

Interview guide for candidates

Let us think of that which is really of value to us, of that which gives meaning to our life, and set our priorities accordingly. (XIV Dalai Lama)

For us, an interview is a type of "materialization" of reciprocal interest. Our telephone discussions are complemented by a personal meeting.

The initial discussion with us is uncomplicated and you can by all means approach it with a relaxed frame of mind. Professionals are already aware of this and know what is important thanks to their experience with personnel consultants.

At this point, you will find a few more useful recommendations, codes of conduct and tips that are of importance to us:

Openness is the uppermost principle. Just how important this is at all levels is repeatedly underestimated. Open communication ensures clarity between you, ourselves and our client. Of primary importance is our impression and that is characterized by open, fair and honest communication. We forward the information available to us on to you and expect the same from you. Our wish is for an open dialog with you.

• We ask targeted questions concerning achievements in sales, e.g. sales figures, customers acquired, your personal method of approach, projects carried out etc. Please prepare for this!

• Salary/current income/target income/income achieved as per wage tax card, period of notice, objective achievement parameters and shares will be discussed with you.

• With international projects and in discussions concerning companies operating internationally, knowledge of other languages may be checked in a brief dialog.

• As a fundamental rule, each change of job should have a good reason that is in line with your personal priorities - similar to the phrase formulated by the Dalai Lama. From our perspective, your salary should not be decisive. At the same time, it is important. Nevertheless, your financial package is not part of our work. We ascertain your value for a company, assess your strengths, wishes and ideas, in particular in terms of your professional career and your personal priorities. We make a detailed record of your current financial situation and formulate your targets in the event of a move. We are generally aware of the salary corridor in which our clients are willing to operate. Consequently, we shall only continue our discussions with you if this is clearly sensible for you within the context of the specific project. At no time shall we issue “statements” on a concrete financial framework.

All data and information will help our clients to get to know “you” better in the further course of the discussions and enable best possible preparation of the discussions in this area.

Should you have any fears about talking on any particular subject, we shall gladly help you overcome these with good arguments. If you categorically do not wish to comment on specific subjects, there is little point in us working together.

The fundamental rule is: HiTec assumes all travel expenses in connection with interviews initiated by us. Depending on the client, all that needs to be done is to agree the form of transport with you. We willingly provide assistance with travel planning and support you wherever possible. Please settle all costs via us/HiTec at the end of the process.
